Raw mocap
Animation key poses. As part of the mocap clean up, only the keyframes on the key poses were kept. The curves for every bone were manually redone for the final animation.
After the character animation receives a first pass, a first pass at camera work is done. From here I block out a draft of my camera cuts and then the character animation receives a second pass to account for the camera position.
Final animation + camera breakdown. Neptune Animation 1 used 3 cameras. Because the animation was shot in 9:16 extremely high focal length lenses were used to limit focal length distortion from making both Neptune and the scene look stretched out. This also creates contrast for the floor dolly camera which uses a relatively wide lens in the shoot.
